I started my academic career in software development in 2012, receiving my Associate's Degree in Software Development in early 2015. I'm hoping to wrap up my Bachelor's Degree with The University of Dayton in Fall of 2021.

I started my professional career in software in late 2014 primarily focusing on Java applications. I spent some time working on migrating features from a legacy application that integrated with an Oracle 10g database to a web application built on Spring and Bootstrap. I am mostly "self-taught" in web application development. Shout out to my colleagues, tons of online resources (I'll share the wealth), and a one or two academic courses.

In 2019 I shifted some of my time towards the operational side of software development and with the help of a colleague we started to foster better development practices for our growing team. We began to introduce automated build pipelines/tests/scans/style-checks and quickly adopted Docker as our containerization/distribution technology (I'll have some lessons on all that fun stuff later). I also took on the role of server admin for our development stack of services that allow us to collaborate and distribute our deliverables.

I love coding and I love the operational/process side. I see it as one big puzzle and I love putting all the pieces together. I hope you learn something by stopping here and I hope you can teach me a thing or two as well. Happy coding!
